Miracle is in the walking: Anxiety
One day, we were hanging out at church after the service, and this lovely visitor from overseas was with us. Unaware of my youngest son’s allergies, she gave him a cookie, and he eagerly ate it. Soon, he started puffing up like a balloon. We hurried out, gave him some medicine, and watched him closely for the rest of the day and evening.
That night, when we finally got home, I was very exhausted and felt like I was done. I turned to my wife and said, “I’m sick and tired of living with this anxiety. We’ve got to break this off of our lives.”
We prayed that very night and I woke up the next day, free.
I know things don’t always happen overnight.
But keep praying.
Don’t stop.
God is a miracle worker.
2 Chronicles 20:17 says, “Take your positions; stand still and watch the Lord’s victory.”
When the Israelites were surrounded and outnumbered by the Moabites and Ammonites, who threatened to destroy them, God told them to do something unexpected: take their position and stand still.
That’s exactly what they did.
They stood still and watched God fight the battle for them.
And while they stood there, praising God, their enemies turned on each other, winning the battle through worship.
If you’re stuck in a cycle of anxiety, calling or labelling yourself as an anxious person — remember that’s not who you are. When God created you, He didn’t label you with anxiety or fear.
He made you free.
So, take your position in faith, not in fear.
Stand firm in who God says you are.
The world’s always telling us to do something about every situation, but sometimes, the best thing we can do is stand still and trust God to handle it.
Ephesians 6:11 reminds us to put on the full armor of God and stand against the devil’s schemes.
Don’t run, don’t scramble — just stand.
Stand in His presence, stand in His truth, and let Him fight your battles.
There were a lot of moments that tipped me over the edge and made me cry like a baby. It’s okay to feel weak because it’s in those moments of weakness God’s strength shines the brightest.
The enemy will try to throw everything he’s got at you — just like the Moabites and Ammonites did to the Israelites. But they overcame through praise and worship.
So did I.
And so will you.
Worship is where the battle is won. Not through our own strength or efforts, but through our complete surrender to Him. So when life feels like too much to handle, stop and worship. Not just as a time-filler, but as a declaration that you trust God completely.
Praise God through the anxiety, through the pain, through the uncertainty.
The Israelites won their battles with worship, and you can overcome your battles (with anxiety) the same way — by fixing your eyes on Jesus.
So, are you ready to take your position and let God fight your battles?
Let’s walk in freedom. Watch the full message, and remember, God’s got this.
