Miracle Is in the walking: SELF-image
Have you ever felt like no matter how much you pray or how hard you try, the weight of the world is still pressing down on you?
You’re not alone.
We’re living in a time where mental health struggles are more common and a topic in everyday conversations, and healthcare professionals can manage these issues, they cannot cure them — but thankfully, there’s one who can: our living God.
It’s quite easy for us to get trapped in the lies the enemy whispers:
“You’re not good enough!”
“You’re not worthy at all!”
“No one loves you!”
You see, low self-esteem is one of the biggest obstacles to experiencing God’s love fully. When you’re stuck in a cycle of thinking “I’m not worthy” or “I’m not good enough,” it’s easy to believe that’s the way things will always be.
But guess what?
God created you in His image, and He calls you an overcomer through Christ.
We’re constantly fighting a battle against the mind - where we sit in our pain, our worries, and our self-doubt. We tend to focus on what we’re not instead of who God says we are.
But here’s the thing: God doesn’t just want you to accept and sit in that situation. He calls you to rise up, to walk through the valleys, trusting that He is with you.
Psalm 23:4 says, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.”
The miracle is in walking, not sitting still.
Low self-image is a stronghold — a way of thinking that holds us captive. But through God’s Living Word, we can break those chains.
2 Corinthians 10:4-5 reminds us that “the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.” Take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ.
If you struggle with low self-esteem or find yourself constantly comparing your life to others, make an effort to stop focusing on yourself and start focusing on who God says you are — fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) — and see what happens.
You are not defined by your past, your struggles, or the lies the enemy tells you. You are defined by the love of Christ.
I ask you today:
Do you want to continue to sit in fear, doubt, and insecurity?
Or will you rise up, trusting in the power of Jesus to walk through whatever valley you are facing?
The journey is not easy, but God never said it would be. He said He would be with us every step of the way and you just need to keep walking, keep trusting, and know that you are not alone.
You don’t have to stay stuck in your situation believing the lies — God is calling you to walk in His truth.
